Kris Kristofferson began knocking on Nashville doors in the later ‘60s, became one of the "country outlaws" alongside Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, and was finally inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2004. His songs were popularised beyond the narrow confines of the genre - Janis Joplin and Gladys Knight had hits with two of his best known - but his own performing career was eventually taken over by movie work. Kristofferson recorded his own songs in the deep gravely tone which can be heard in his acting roles...featured here are the ones that made him famous: Bobby McGee, Help Me Make it Through the Night, Sunday Morning Coming Down etc.
