Her 1st album "I Am A Photograph" was a big success in Europe. Her next single the symphonic and Kraftwerk inspired "Follow-Me" from her second album "Sweet Revenge" in 1978 was an instant smash all across continental Europe as was the album. She went on to sell many records with her smoky voice, and later alleged trans-sexual notoriety partly fuelled by her own Life With Dali book. Born in 1946 in Hong Kong from an English/French father and an Asian/Russian mother, Amanda Lear was raised in the South of France and in Switzerland, and also became fluent in French, English, German, Spanish and Italian.
