The Houston concert was one for the ages, by its spectacle, the sheer size of the show, the music that was played, the months of preparation and rehearsal it took to bring this insane project to life, and the size of the audience.

All of it was grandiose.

On April 5, 1986, at 8:25 PM, more than 1.5 million American spectators watched as the city began to sizzle: multiple sets of fireworks were exploding and lasers were drawing symbols of the nation in the air. All this while the music smoothly twisted and flowed around the skyscrapers. It was one of Jarre’s most beautiful concerts.

Exactly six months later, on October 5, 1986, Jarre gave another huge concert in Lyon, celebrating the Pope’s arrival in France.The best of the two performances is on this CD
