Mary Hopkin's name will forever be associated with the phrase "fairytale success" . Signed to Apple by Paul McCartney after an appearance on the TV talent show Opportunity Knocks, the Welsh teenager was transformed from a folk singing schoolgirl into an international pop star. In 1968 her first single, Those Were the Days, sold an astonishing 8 million copies.In addition to the title song this compilation includes other hit singles (Goodbye, Knock Knock Who's There?) and their rather different Gallagher and Lyle penned B sides and material from the two albums released by Apple between 1969 and 1971: 'Postcard' and 'Earth Song-Ocean Song'.
