We are re-promoting this CD of the original accompanying music to Sergei Eisenstein’s famous 1925 film ’Battleship Potemkin’ to tie-in with The Pet Shop Boys new soundtrack to the film, to be released on September 5th.. This follows their free public performance of the piece with the original film, in Trafalgar Square in 2004.

 Singer Neil Tennant said at the time: "We liked the idea that we were going to take something made in the 1920s and put contemporary electronic music to it." - and talking before the gig, Tennant told BBC One’s Breakfast show: "The director (Sergei Eisenstein) said that he wanted there to be a new soundtrack to the film every ten years to keep it fresh."
