Signing his first record contract in 1946, for over fifty years he performed and recorded songs about Australian life and history, country ballads and folksongs, becoming the most beloved of the continent’s recording artists .In 1998 he was voted one of “100 National Living Treasures” and he reached a world audience by performing at the closing ceremony of the 2000 Olympics .Box set that documents his long career (four CDs of music plus one disc with 60 minutes of interviews) includes a 64 page illustrated booklet.
