Peter Sarstedt was born in India, and moved to England in 1954. Peter and his two brothers, Rick (Eden Kane) and Clive (Robin Sarstedt), all had hit records, beginning with 'Well I Ask You' for Eden Kane in 1961. Peter’s "I Am A Cathedral" was an airplay hit on pirate radio and university juke-boxes, but it was his 1969 number one 'Where Do You Go To My Lovely' which became one of the great love songs of the last thirty years, constantly heard on compilation recordings and radio stations around the world, The song was awarded an Ivor Novello Award in 1969, memorable as it was a shared award with David Bowie's 'Space Oddity'. He had a follow-up top ten hit with ‘Frozen Orange Juice’. Peter has continued to compose and release records.
