The tremendous success of DANACORD's series of recordings by the great Danish tenor Aksel Schiotz (DACOCD 451/60) has led to a keen sense of expectation, whenever the label comes up with another Danish singer from the archives. Here it is a bass-baritone, Frans Andersson, with a truly impressive voice, and clearly great stage presence: the recordings come mainly from his private collection and have posed some problems for DANACORD's dedicated team, but the results are wholly worthwhile.
