Attractive Spanish soprano Ainhoa Arteta is best-known for her operatic performances, so this CD recital (recorded in London's Henry Wood Hall) is all the more welcome for giving us a chance to hear her passionate, expressive voice in a wide range of songs by composers from Italy, France and her native country. Surprisingly, the pieces by Verdi, Puccini and Respighi are rarely recorded - though delightful - while none of Antón García Abril's songs is otherwise available.
