Once again, DANACORD have successfully mined the archives, this time for performances of Bach by German harpsichordist and Bach scholar Liselotte Selbiger, who fled to Denmark from her native Berlin in 1935. A pioneer, in days when performances of Bach on the harpsichord were relatively rare (she was the first professional harpsichord player active in Denmark) Selbiger studied with the great Wanda Landowska, and these performances - in excellent mono sound from the 1950s - are well worth re-issuing. |
