This 4-CD set features the famous actor Fanny Ardant reading Marguerite DURAS’ “Le Ravisssement de Lol V. Stein” – in French. In 1964, after an impassioned love affair then betrayal, she took refuge in Trouville, was in alcohol rehab and wrote “Le Ravissement de Lol V. Stein” in a few months. Lol is a 19 years old lady living in T. Beach. During a ball, she witnesses the birth of passion between her lover and another woman. Paralysed by the beauty of this intensity, she can neither speak nor move until these new lovers leave the ball together… She suffers more from having observed the splendor of this sudden infatuation than from her lover’s desertion. Despite her despair, she soon getd married. She decides to move abroad and live another life. But ten years later she returns to T. Beach and decides to take her revenge…
