When Lee is not spending time jamming with others, he concentrate on his solo career. In the U.S., he has played to audiences of more than 100 000 at both the Free Wheels Festival and the Rock-n-Surf. The album "No Cats", his first truly solo project, was first released in Europe via Dixiefrog Records, before its american release, and was supported by a european tour including a stop in Moscow. In France, his hybrid style of blues and rockabilly is held in great esteem. "The french have a love and reverence for american roots and jazz", he says, "it's not as much an underground movement as it is in the U.S.". The album, featuring Elliot Easton of The Cars and Leon Russel, echoes the passion and energy of a true american original playing a distinctive brand of roots inspired alternative music.
