In Beirut, in the early 50's she met the Rahbani brothers, Asi & Mansour, who wrote her music and lyrics for the next 30 years. She married Asi in 1954. She reinterpreted Arabic song - adding Western styles and instruments, and even hybrid mixes with tango, and rumba, and even Western classical music.
