Legendary valve-trombonist and arranger Bob Brookmeyer meets Brazilian pianist and Blue Note artist, Eliane Elias resulting in a Grammy Nominated (2002) album of inventive, swinging, big band versions of her compositions, backed by the top-notch Danish Radio Jazz Orchestra, of which Brookmeyer was chief conductor, at the time.

Recorded in Copenhagen in 1997, this rich alliance creates a wonderful musical fusion: Brazilian, the Kansa City jazz tradition of Brookmeyer's home ground, European romanticism & modernism, and a post-Gil Evans / Thad Jones big band style.
