Uniquelytalented Chicago session musician, who enhanced the recordings of Big BillBroonzy & Washboard Sam in the late 30's & 40's, sax playerBennett was always in demand for live and recording work. This CD collectstogether all 20 of the titles issued under Bennett's own name by Columbiabetween '45 and '47. He began adding vocals at this time as well, and had anidiosyncratic style, rooted in earlier jazz, blues & boogie. Wild BillDavis plays piano on several tracks.
