This CD contains a unique selection of the traditional songs conserved by the Spanish Jews (Sefaradim) following their expulsion from Spain by Ferdinand and Isabella in 1492 and subsequent 'diaspora' around the Mediterranean lands of the Ottoman Empire. Only a few of the songs harmonised by Alberto Hemsi are otherwise available on disc.
