French electro-neo-punk outfit Nouvelle Vague hit big time in 2004 with their album of cover versions of post-punk songs. The unit is based around an acoustic instrumentalist (Olivier Libaux) and a programmer (Marc Collin), with a number of female vocalists brought in to give the ethereal, slightly unreal element to the songs we know and love so well.Camille is one of these singers, giving superb renditions of the covers of Tuxedomoon’s ‘In a manner of speaking’, The Clash’s ‘Guns of Brixton’, the DK’s ‘Too drunk…’and the best track on the album, XTC’s ‘Making plans for Nigel’.Camille had her own album of French Chansons on Virgin France, released end 2003, which has been available from Discovery. We are now bringing it to more prominence…
