Here is an artist who deserves some attention.
At 24, she has a good 'petite' voice and songwriting talent. Packaged behind some fairly audacious artwork, this is a collection of seductive, naïve yet commanding songs, slightly reminiscent of Vanessa Paradis. The inclusion in the list of Iggy's 'I wanna be your dog' catches the ear, especially as the version is no Stooges copy, but a radical re-working of the antipathy of the original.
As an aside, the song 'Graines d'étoiles' features the fantastic Perry Blake on vocals. Irish but French resident (remember Samuel Beckett?) Perry Blake is yet a relatively unknown quantity over here in the UK, but we at Discovery are nurturing his latest album 'California' hopefully for release in Autumn. It is a blinding cracker of an album.
