Troy Donockley has built a formidable reputation as a musician, performer, composer, arranger and leading virtuoso of Uillean Pipes and Low Whistle.
He has recorded with many well-established artists, including: Alan Stivell, Maire Brennan (Clannad), Roy Harper, Kathryn Tickell, Del Amitri and Maddy Prior (he's a regular member of her band and has produced her last four albums).
The new album "The Pursuit of Illusion" is a colossal project rooted both in the Celtic Folk and pastoral English Classical traditions, and involving a vast cast of musicians, including The Emperor String Quartet, the York Cantores Choir, the late Duncan Rayson on church organ, plus oboe, piano, violin, percussion, voices, etc, etc.
His first album "The Unseen Stream" was released on EMI in 1998 to global critical acclaim, and sold over 10,000 copies in the UK alone. "The world of the pipes will never be the same again" - Irish Music Magazine.
He has performed all over the world and had his orchestral works performed in venues such as the Royal Festival Hall with soloists including Lesley Garrettt and Maire Brennan.
