You might think a 65-minute programme of music for organ and piano would consist exclusively of transcriptions, of works originally written for other combinations - but not so! Even Franck's Op. 18 organ masterpiece was originally written for harmonium and piano, and this seems to be a first recording in that form. The instrumental combination works wonderfully well, and this CD is highly recommendable to all with enquiring ears. |
