Francoise Atlan, who has made 5 previous Buda albums and appeared on several others, is a Sephardic Jew from Algiers and has always been immersed in a universe of oriental music (Arab-Andalous, Spanish-Jewish etc). Moneim Oudwan is a Palestinian from Gaza, who has endured the occupation of his country, while absorbing the musical universes of the Middle East. Together the weave ancient texts into traditional-based songs, about the Lost Andalusias - using erudite improvisation, old melodies, liturgical texts and verses of Jewish poems from Medieval Spain.
