Pianist/composer Krzysztof Komeda was a key figure on the Polish jazz scene when he began to score movies for friend and fellow countryman Roman Polanski....an enduring creative collaboration between director and composer which ended with Komeda's death in 1969. "Fearless Vampire Killers"(1967) and "Rosemary's Baby"(1968) were the last two movies on which they worked together. The menacing music from "Rosemary's Baby" (played by the Don Ellis band) has, in particular, become one of the best known and most memorable of sixties movie soundtracks.
