Two outstanding Parker live shows recorded for radio broadcast in 1953 at George Wein's Storyville Club in Boston. The hastily arranged piano trio to back him on the first date was: Red Garland (the only time he worked with Bird), Roy Haynes & Bernie Griggs.

The band for the second session was : trumpeter Herb Pomeroy, pianist Sir Charles Thompson, Jimmy Woode on bass and drummer Kenny Clarke. There are a couple of unfortunate interruptions (due to a local election) and the sound quality, even after remastering, is variable - but these are dynamic, invaluable live documents of Bird's brilliance.
