Young Swedish pianist Mikael Holmlund was outright winner of the Stockholm 2002 Soloist Competition, and the making of this disc was one of his prizes. He is already known outside his native country, having given concerts in Berlin, Brussels, Salzburg and St. Petersburg, and he certainly could not have chosen much more technically demanding repertoire, for his debut CD recital!
