In an excellent review of this CD, BBC Music Magazine says: "The Goldbergs fit remarkably well on a trio of violin, viola and cello there are genuine advantages to the string arrangement the disc sheds new light on this uniquely ingenious masterpiece". Not much more need be said, really, except that the rather forbidding cover minimises the considerable attractions of the trio's members, and the disc is a hybrid SACD/CD. |
