The 18 tracks, mainly standards & jazz classics, were recorded in Chicago & New York with superb musicians including : Al Grey, Billy Mitchell, Dave Burns, Earl Washington, Calvin Newborn, Herman Wright, etc.

Hutcherson, along with Gary Burton, modernized vibes for the modern era, building on what Lionel Hampton, Red Norvo & Milt Jackson had achieved in previous eras. These historically important recordings, on CD for the first time, are some of Bobby Hutcherson's earliest.
