Amazingly, this is the 15th annual instalment in the series of 'Piano Rarities' recorded at the Husum Festival - and the winning formula continues to work wonderfully well! This year's issue contains first recordings of works by Florent Schmitt, Pierre de Bréville (both played by Marie-Catherine Girod), Kaikhosru Sorabji and Giuseppe Verdi (incredibly, his only piece for piano!). as well as a superb complete performance of Poulenc's 'Les soirées de Nazelles' by our own Jonathan Plowright. As ever, a magical mixture. |
