Legendary pianist who made 8 albums for Blue Note in the 60's, before moving to Denmark (and recording extensively for Steeplechase). On this new recording (his 1^st for 4 years) he's joined by another long-term Danish-based US jazz star, Ed Thigpen, and the acclaimed young Danish bassist, Jesper Lundgaard.

This is a wonderfully relaxed & laid-back album of some of Parlan's favourite standards - it's unpretentious, free of trendy labels and fancy frills. Simply a classic 'old school' jazz piano trio that hits the target and warms the heart, with Parlan, now 73, playing with a beautiful fluidity, seemingly still unrestricted by the polio in his right hand, contracted in his childhood.
