Anthony Braxton, one of the leading names at this year's London Jazz Festival, follows up his stunning 4 CD set "23 Standards" with this intriguing new recording with Hungarian Gyorgy Szabados (piano) and Russian Vladimir Tarasov (percussion). Szabados is virtually the father of free jazz in Hungary, while Tarasov is a long-time member of the well-known Ganelin Trio. Braxton plays with his customary fluency and edge.

This is almost a form of 'third stream music' - with a strong emotional focus and linear drive, under-pinned by an improvisatory tradition in Hungarian music that links folk and classical traditions to the jazz modernist.
