A valuablecontribution to the recorded memory of the great French baritone, following hisdeath last year. Taken from LPs maderelatively early in Souzay's career (1957/8) for two now-defunct French labels,the songs on this CHRONOS series disc will be of special interest to his manyfans, as they are not duplicated elsewhere, like so much of his corerepertoire. The Liszt lieder wereawarded a 'Grand Prix du Disque' in 1959.
