Andersen was one of the outstanding flautists of the late 19th century, and will always be celebrated as the composer of the 188 (yes, really!) studies which form the core of every flautists's education. This CD presents a varied selection of his works for flute and piano, ranging from 'salon' miniatures to more complex and substantial pieces. Volume 1 of this DANACORD series, which will include 'the complete works', is on DACOCD 604, and none of the music is otherwise listed in the CD catalogue. |
