A generous coupling of two popular cello sonatas, recorded in ACCORD’s series from the Radio-France festival at Montpellier. Of the two Alexanders, Dmitriev was born in Kiev and is the current leader of the Montpellier orchestra’s cello section, while Paley hails from Moldova and has played often in the Radio-France festival – his solo CD playing some of Liszt’s Beethoven transcriptions was very well received (4761897).
