More than a unique and creative instrumentalist, mandolin player Yank Rachell is a gifted song writer as well. Although the music's been updated with amplified mandolin, Floyd Jone's electric bass, Pete Crawford's guitar and Odie Payne's drums, Yank Rachell still plays those same nasty Down-home blues that he played in the 30's with Sleepy John Estes and Sonny Boy Williamson. Some of Yank's biggest fans are fellow blues artists. B.B. King for example has told Yank, "It's People like you that made people like me possible."
