Before the arrival of the interstate highway down to Baton Rouge, the Cajun community existed as a separate world. Despite increased Americanization over the years the music of Lousiana’s quarter million Cajun and Creole French speakers has survived.
Fascinating French made documentary which reveals plenty of history but concentrates on the music, travelling down the bayous and visiting back porches, dancehalls and festivals. Musicians include D.L.Menard, Michael Doucet, Canray Fontenot
…a remarkable variety of music….Well done! Tony Russell |
