Third release on the new Manana label, created by Argentinian Eduardo Makaroff (guitarist with the acclaimed Gotan Project) to spotlight contemporary tango - not Gotan offshoots but the varied Tango artists and styles that have inspired and influenced them.

This is a new album by pianist, singer & trombonist (Juan Carlos) Caceres, who was born in Buenos Aires in 1936. He arrived in Paris in 1968 as an art student but soon became involved in jazz and left-wing politics. He went on to become a highly individual European ambassador of Argentinean music, recording and performing regularly, with his own jazzy adaptations of tango, milonga, murga & candombe - his vocal delivery reminiscent of Paolo Conte with a touch of Tom Waits. His backing here ranges from duets to large ensembles. Released in a special digipak sleeve with pop-up interior !
