Following his big success with “3 O’Clock Blues”, from earlier in 1952, B.B. King continued in the same vein with more hits resulting from these studio dates in Memphis, Cincinnati and, most notably, Houston, Texas sessions backed by the Bill Harvey band.

Guitar buffs note: the thin-line Gibson which, christened “Lucille”, became B.B.’s trademark guitar, wasn’t introduced until 1958……publicity pictures from this earlier period show him with a Fender Telecaster.
