The Armstrong-influenced trumpeter Bill Coleman, already well travelled, was one of many black jazz musicians who made their home in Paris during the post-war period. Vol 4 in the chronological series takes in a Paris concert performance (with Dickie Wells, trombone) and a rare studio LP, released on the French Pathé label, the band including fellow expatriates Wally Bishop (drums) and Benny Waters (clarinet/sax) .

Reviews
Jazz Journal - Barry McRae
Coleman is the leader. He is very much the solo star and is the most effective instrumental voice, whether the stylistic choice is New Orleans, jump jive or early r&b.
