All Art Pepper’s Quartet recordings waxed in television studios between 1957 and 1964 are gathered together on this mid-price Lonehill release. These TV quartets include Victor Feldman, Don Payne, Larry Bunker and Frank Strazzeri, and were recorded for The Steve Allen Show, Bobby Troup’s The Stars of Jazz Show and the Jazz Casual show, hosted by Ralph J. Gleason.

There are also 3 bonus tracks of Art Pepper recorded in Hollywood in 1957 with the excellent pianist, Carl Perkins joining the alto legend, plus Ben Tucker (bass) & Chuck Flores (drums). The 50’s tracks are all jazz standards, while the 3 60’s tracks are Pepper compositions.
