An almost forgotten part of the former Yugoslavia, Montenegro is rich in history with traditions that date back to Illyrian times. A rare collection of music from the area reveals a wide repertoire performed by Montenegran folk music groups: heroic epic ballads, part songs from mountain dwelling shepherds and harmonies from the Central European tradition.
