Jens Winther (trumpet, flugelhorn) has worked with tenor player Tomas Franck for almost 25 years and the two have built up an enviable rapport. The quintet for this album is made up by Italian pianist Antonio Farao, a rising star of European jazz, much sought after by visiting transatlantic musicians; Swedish bass legend Palle Danielsson ( Keith Jarrett quartet, Charles Lloyd, Michel Petruciani) and Serbian drummer Dejan Terzic. After a long period composing, Winther is happy to focus once again on the trumpet -- much to the fore on a recording which leaves space for each player’s individual personality while presenting an organic band sound.
