Han de Vries is the leading exponent of the Dutch School of oboe playing. His light, fluent style is everywhere evident in Mozart's Oboe Concerto. He is equally at home in the chamber music of the Bach Oboe and Violin Concerto, or riding the full orchestra in the Paganini-like Kalliwoda Concertino.
He plays Baroque oboe in the Telemann C minor Concerto, and modern oboe without vibrato in a 1969 concerto by Louis Andreissen that sounds quite normal - except for the voice on the radio... |
