Teacher and composer Jean-Paul Poletti has worked for many years to revive Corsica’s rich musical heritage.In 1995 he established the seven voice male choir of Sartène, a town which has been home to a Franciscan monastic community since the 14th century. Polyphonic art is the jewel of the oral tradition, both sacred and secular, and the ensemble, under Poletti’s direction combine both elements….. the Franciscan influence is notably present.
