Doudou N’Diaye Rose, master of the “sabar” drums, is now a veteran of the world music scene. He composed the music for the Senegalese national anthem and has played with musicians as diverse as the Rolling Stones and Miles Davis, performing and recording internationally while, for many years, holding down his day job as a plumber! On this unusual collaboration, captured in Dakar, the Breton pipe band Bagad Men Ha Tan meet Rose’s massed percussion group, which includes some of his forty two children.
