Completely neglected post-war jazz and jump pianist/singer once described by Downbeat magazine as having “ ..the most amorous voice on record”. Some of Viviane’s songs, including Honey, Honey, Honey, were covered by Ray Charles early in his career and though her own catalogue of recordings was limited, she became an important backroom presence in the development of R & B and soul music….she taught stagecraft to the Jackson Five and her daughter Susaye was a one time member of the Supremes.
