Rebels to any form of colonisation, the Mapuche Indians resisted the Incas and then the Spanish who had to acknowledge them as a nation.
This sound and music itinerary introduces us to this culture immersed in shamanism, blended with Christianity. It presents healing songs, recitative prayers to the Gods for abundant harvests, bird imitations, ritual greetings and "palin" (a collective game which is an integral part of the social and ritual protocol of the Mapuche). Voices, drums, horns and atmosphere: this journey with the Mapuche bears witness to their fierce traditional cultural heritage, in symbiosis with their natural environment. |
