Here is the new Bill Perry album and, like his previous one, it’s produced by the New York blues master Popa Chubby, who has superbly captured Perry’s guitar ferocity, gutsy vocals, and go-for-broke intensity on disc. Bill Perry ranks among the best of modern blues performers. He’s a stunning guitar master, or, as Guitar One magazine put it, a “six-string superman more powerful than a locomotive”. He’s also an intense, highly expressive singer and a fine songwriter - his music reflecting his New York City background - passionate and sometimes menacing.

Bill plays robust blues with strong characteristics of rock, soul and folk influences. On stage, Billhas earned a reputation as a mesmerizing performer who plays with passion and excitement. His parental heritage is half Afro-American and half American Indian, and he grew up in a household surrounded by gospel and blues music. From 1988 to 1992, Bill was on the road with Richie Havens. In 1994 he released his first album, which was heard by Johnny Winter’s manager who convinced Point Blank/Virgin to buy the master release it themselves. Perry’s successful career was launched.
