Hilde Louise Asbjørnsen was born in 1977 in the small town of Sykkylven, on the Northwest coast of Norway. She released her first album called “Eleven Nights and Two Early Mornings” in March 2004, and received great reviews both for her singing and composition, which is all her own. One critic described her as ”a mix of three parts Marilyn Monroe and one part Billie Holiday.”

This is her second album,”Birdie Blues”, once again containing her own music and lyrics. This time she has been working with the ‘Queen of Norwegian of Jazz’; Karin Krog, as a co-producer. Hilde is backed by an 8-piece band led by highly regarded Norwegian pianist Anders Aarum, who also arranged the music. Whilst her first album was influenced by vintage jazz & cabaret, on this vivid, original new recording there are more soul & pop references.
