This live recording of Bartók’s powerful one-act opera, made at a concert performance in January 2004, benefits from the slavic voices of Violeta Urmana and Peter Mikulas, as Judith and Bluebeard, while the wonderful orchestral score is in the capable hands of the Monte Carlo Philharmonic and their Music Director at the time, Marek Janowski.
