Ola Akerman is master of the slide trombone. He lives in Sweden but spends most of his musical life in Denmark, where this quartet came together to record a fine album of swinging, melodic, hard bop - with a strong sixties and blues influences. All compositions are by Akerman, except a version of Harry Warren’s “The More I See You”. Akerman is brilliantly supported by pianist Kasper Villaume - with Daniel Franck (bass) & Anders Mogensen (drums). This album is reviewed in the latest Echoes magazine (Sept 06). Ola Akerman has played with Frederik Carlquist, Isildurs Bane, Tolvan Big Band, and the Monday Night Big Band and played on many Scandinavian recording sessions & concerts.
