A chance to rediscover the work of Argentinian pianist Enrique Villegas – this is the first time his only two US recorded LPs have been re-issued on CD. Villegas’ playing was continuously interesting, with a special character of its own founded on his classical training and jazz inclinations. He moved to New York in 1955, when he was already well-known in his country, with the intention of establishing himself as a jazz pianist in the USA but returned to Buenos Aires for good less than three years later. On both these sessions he is accompanied by Milt Hinton (b) & Cozy Cole (d).
